Broers, Alan
CLIFTON PARK - Alan R. Broers, of Clifton Park, N.Y., died November 4, 2025 at his Plattsburgh home, surrounded by family.
He was born in Syracuse, N.Y., and raised in Rotterdam, N.Y.
Alan graduated from St. Rose College with a degree in Criminal Justice and retired from the New York State Police, as a T/Lieutenant, in charge of the NYSP Records Division, in December of 1996.
He is survived by Edith, his wife of 52 years; daughter, Stacey; and son-in-law, Kris Ambler, of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; and son, David; and daughter-in-law, Katie Broers of Malta, N.Y.; grandchildren, Sadie and Landon Ambler and Brynleigh and Sydney Broers; sister, Linda McCoy; and nephews, Larry (Jennifer) and Rob Loesch of Colo.; sister-in-law, Janet; and brother-in-law, Mark Gerstenhaber of Accord, N.Y.; niece, Deena (Steve) Kahler and Todd Gerstenhaber, of Hoboken, N.J.; and several cousins.
Funeral services are planned for on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 11 a.m., at Lake View Cemetery, Williamson, N.Y.
Donations in Alan's memory may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
