Alma Rayher Obituary

TROY Alma R. Rayher, 87, of Lansingburgh, died on February 16, 2006 at St. Mary's Hospital with her loving family by her side. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late James and Martha Hunter Marsh and the devoted wife of the late Charles H. Rayher. Mrs. Rayher was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School and was retired from the department of labor for the State of New York in Albany. She was a member of St. Augustine's Church in Lansingburgh. Survivors include her daughter, Sonya Rayher of Schenectady; grandchildren, Shawn Farry and Shannon Farry, both of Schenectady, and great-granddaughter, Madison Lynn Wright of Schenectady. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from St. Augustine's Church where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in St. Jean's Cemetery in Troy. Friends are invited and may call at the Frank P. McDonald & Son Funeral Home, 870 Second Avenue (between 124th and 125th Streets) in Lansingburgh on Friday 5-7 p.m. If desired, contributions may be made to the Activity Department of the Van Rensselaer Manor, 85 Blooming Grove Drive, Troy, NY 12180 or to the Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144.
