Alona Rickert Obituary
AVERILL PARK - Alona Rickert, 78, of Averill Park, passed away on November 14, 2025, at Samaritan Hospital, with family at her side.
Born February 23, 1947 in Albany, daughter of Thomas Stanley Sr. and Margaret Anderson, she was the loving wife of Stephen Rickert Sr. for 58 years.
She grew up in Sherwood Park, East Greenbush, and graduated from Columbia High School.
She worked for Price Chopper for 28 years, and operated her craft business, Bearly Country Crafts. She loved making teddy bears and camping.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Thomas Stanley Jr., (late Kitty Neary), and Richard Stanley.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, Stephen Rickert Jr. (Angelina Guidice), of Calif., and Michael Rickert, of N.C.; two sisters, Kathy (late Thomas) Walker, of Albany, Donna (Ed) Borsuk, of Va.; and one brother, Robert Stanley (Sue Ann Maloy), of Castleton, N.Y. She also had many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
There will be no services per her wishes.
Anyone wishing to honor Alona, may make a donation to the charity of their choice.

Dear Steve and Family,
I´m so sorry to hear Alona passed away. Wishing you peace and comfort during these difficult days.
I grew up one street away from you in Sherwood Park. Lots of fond memories. Alona and you were always together. I remember too that your mother was always so nice to me.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived. Alona had many talents namely her amazing crafts, sewing, cooking and baking. She attended our annual Labor Day parties with Steve and brought her delicious chocolate chip cookies every year. She always had a smile on her face and love in her heart She will be missed.

I worked with Alona for many years at East Greenbush PC. She was always kind and generous and I enjoyed our time together at work. I still have some of her bears she made me for Christmas. She will be greatly missed. My deepest condolences to all of her family and friends. Alona was an angel. RIP
