Ann Bagan Obituary

Bagan, Ann LAKE LUZERNE Ann Bagan of Lake Luzerne died Saturday, September 17, 2011 at home with her loving daughter at her side. She was the beloved wife of the late William J. Bagan. Born in Maplewood, Ann was daughter of the late Wasyl and Mary Hrenko Winglosky Doroshenko. She was a graduate of Watervliet High School and went on to business college. After her marriage, she moved to Troy then to Cohoes and then to Lake Luzerne where she resided until her death. Ann was known as a pioneer; she raised her daughter then went to work for several years as a secretary for the NYS Department of Education and transferred to Warrensburg, retiring in 1995 from the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation. She was a member of St. Basil's Russian Orthodox Church in Maplewood. Ann loved spending time entertaining family and friends; she was known for her wonderful cooking and her Christmas lights and decorations. She was an avid gardener and loved flowers and the happy times she spent with her animals. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Ann is survived by her devoted daughter, Mary Ann Bagan of Lake Luzerne; her sister-in-law, Carmela Winglosky; her nephews, William (Jo-Ann) and John (Susan) Winglosky; her nieces, Mary Paula (Jon) Skillin and Kathleen (Frank) Garceau; her dear friends, Olga Bondaruk of New Jersey and Eugenia Zaharchuk of Maplewood and several grandnieces and grandnephews. She was pre-deceased by her brothers, William (Julia), Joseph and Stephen Winglosky. She is also survived by her canine companion, A.J. Funeral services were private, held at the convenience of the family. Interment was in St. Basil's Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Ann may be made to St. Basil's Russian Orthodox Church, Archibald St., Maplewood, N.Y. or to the animal shelter of one's choice.
