McKinley, Barbara Anne WYNANTSKILL Barbara Anne Kennedy McKinley, 76, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2022. Born in Troy on September 14, 1945. Barbara was the daughter of the late James Byrd Kennedy II and Mary Alice Coffey Kennedy, and predeceased by her husband, Robert J. McKinley. She was a graduate of St. Jude the Apostle School in Wynantskill, attended Catholic Central High School in Troy and graduated from Hudson Valley Community College in Troy. Barbara was employed by Rensselaer County, RPI, and most recently and most rewarding for her, as an aide at St. Jude the Apostle School CASE program. She truly enjoyed working with children and being part of the school and parish community. Barb loved photography, crossword puzzles, birdwatching and travel. She often boasted of having been to every state in the continental U.S., but her favorite place was Ireland. She visited years ago and had always dreamed of going back. Barb is survived by her beloved family including her brother, James Byrd Kennedy III (Donna); and sisters, Jude (the late Jerry) Ethier and Mary Jane (Chris) O'Brien. She is survived by her cherished nieces and nephews, James (Cory) Kennedy, Patrick (Jamie) Kennedy, Terry (Rita) Kennedy, Jill (Rick) Brimmer, Kristee (Adam) Gemmill, Jason (Erin) Ethier, Rebecca Ethier, Shanna (Glenn) Sanders, Conor (Alicia) O'Brien, Ashley (Michael) Castle and Padraic (Laura) O'Brien. In addition, Barb had many grand-nieces and nephews whom she adored and is also survived by many cousins from the Normile, Pagano and Shovan families. Barb had many friends at the St. Jude Apartments including her dear friends Barb, Mary Janet, Colleen and Greta. Family and friends will be invited to a memorial service and celebration of Barbara's life that will be held in spring.
