Barbara Mosher Obituary

Mosher, Barbara
SAND LAKE - Barbara J. Mosher, 87, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 8, 2025, after a brief illness. Born on October 16, 1937, in Yonkers, N.Y., she was the middle child of ?ve, born to Benjamin Jazwinski and Genevieve (Piekarski) Jazwinski. Barbara often spent summers in upstate New York, where she met and married her husband of 51 years, Gale E. Mosher (who predeceased her). They raised their family in the picturesque setting of Sand Lake. Barbara skillfully balanced a busy life as a devoted mother to their ?ve children. As they grew older, she worked in office administration and accounting for Legenbauer Gas & Oil Company in Averill Park.
Barbara had a competitive side that shone through in her exceptional wordsmithing skills as an avid Scrabble player, often outsmarting those who challenged her. Her baking talents were extraordinary, with her delectable pies consistently winning blue ribbons at the annual Piekarski family reunions. Barbara enjoyed staying active and was a member of both bowling and golf leagues, excelling in golf and participating in several local tournaments. She loved playing bingo and spent countless hours enjoying board games with her family. During the summer, Barbara liked tending to her ?ourishing gardens and hosting outdoor family picnics by the ?re. She spent winters in sunny Englewood, Fla., where, alongside her husband, Gale, she delighted in days at the beach, hunting for shark teeth, playing golf, and creating treasured memories with family and friends. Above all, Barbara cherished her time with her children.
As a member of St. Henry's Parish, Barbara's faith guided her throughout life's journey, marked by kindness and generosity. She extended her devotion to God by studying to become an Apostle of the Resurrection, diligently attending formation meetings while striving to embody the spirituality of the Sisters of the Resurrection in Castleton, N.Y. She shared the message of God's unconditional love, peace, and the joy of the Risen Jesus with everyone she met.
Barbara is survived by her siblings, Sister Alexandra Jazwinski of the Sisters of the Resurrection in Castleton, N.Y.; Joyce (Dr. Chester) Humphrey; and Raymond (Eleanor) Jazwinski. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Jazwinski. Her children also survive her, Jeffrey A. (Noreen) Mosher of Guilderland, Lynne A. (Samuel, predeceased) Barr of East Greenbush, Daniel E. Mosher, Theodore M. Mosher (Teresa, predeceased), and Timothy R. (Tina) Mosher of Sand Lake. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call 9-11 a.m., on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at St. Henry's Church, 32 Old Rte. 66, Averill Park. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Hospice (Gift Processing), 310 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, N.Y. 12208.
