Barbara A. Tazbir

Tazbir, Barbara A. WATERVLIET Barbara Ann Assini Tazbir, 92, died August 21, 2011 at Van Rensselaer Manor. Born September 26, 1918 to the late Philomena and Joseph Assini. Barbara is predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Paul Tazbir; and leaves behind her children Paul (Ruth) Tazbir of Wynantskill, Barbara (Thomas) Gries of Huletts Landing, Nancy Peysen of Coppers Cove, Texas and Joseph (Kathy) Tazbir of Arcadia Fla., Marvin (Kevin) Bink of Rotterdam; grandchildren Tom and Scott Gries, John and Brian Tazbir, John Maherg, Jennifer Farland, Zachary, Josiah, Seth and Devon Tazbir, Samantha McCarthy, Zachary and Heather Kane; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Joseph Assini; and sister, Lillian Squadere. Barbara was preceded in death by her son, John Cote; brothers, William and Vincent Assini; and sister, Ann Mooney. Barbara and her husband Paul were foster parents for 20 years for the Rensselaer County Dept. of Social Services fostering children from infancy to teens including special needs children. She was an active member of the 1st Presbyterian Church and Volunteered for the Meals on Wheels Program and home visits in N.Y. and S.C. Barbara will always be remembered for her devotion to her family. A special thank you to the wonderful and caring staff in Unit B-1 of Van Rensselaer Manor and the staff at McAuleys Residential Home. Friends may call at the Parker Bros.
