Bogdan Kowalik

Kowalik, Bogdan CLIFTON PARK Bogdan Kowalik, 89, formerly of Clifton Park, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 22, 2018, at the Vermont Veteran's Center. Born and educated in Poland, he was the son of the late Edward and Jozefa Kowalik. Bogdan was a Capital District resident and attended Hudson Valley Community College. He was a proud United States Army veteran and was the recipient of the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and the Presidential Unit Citation (ROK). Bogdan was employed as an electrician with Ford Motor Company in Green Island. He enjoyed tinkering with all types of electronics, especially radios and televisions. He is survived by his wife, Janina Ferenc Kowalik of Clifton Park; children, Alfred (fiancee Nikita Lenahan) Kowalik of Reading. Vt., Alicja (Leonard) Kirsch of Dunadin, Fla. and Anna Kowalik of Clearwater, Fla.; grandchildren, Nadia and Alexandra Kirsch. He was predeceased by his son, Edward Kowalik. Funeral from the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ltd., 105 Vliet Blvd, Cohoes, Thursday morning December 27, at 8:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael's Church at 9. Interment with full military honors will be in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
