Brian Justice Obituary

Justice, Brian C. CAPE COD, Mass. Brian C. Justice, the Red Baron, Dad, Beeswax, UB, Dunderbeck and most importantly, Poppy, died suddenly on August 15, 2016, which was the biggest loss to date to everyone who knew him. He was 74. Born in 1942, Brian attended Vincentian Institute in Albany and graduated from Cardinal McClosky in 1960. UB went on to attend the Citadel, was fiercely loyal to the South Carolina college for his whole life and even wrote football scouting reports from his basement in upstate New York to the Citadel's head coach. After the Citadel, Beeswax entered the Navy and served as a gunner navigator on the U.S. Coral Sea from 1964-1966 during the Vietnam War. Dad was honorably discharged from the Navy and he returned to Albany, where some may remember him as the Red Baron, who flew in bars including Gasberrys and Ralph's Tavern from 1966-1970. Ask any older relatives, and if they saw him, they would say he was a legend. Brian worked at Clemente Latham Concrete Corporation for most of his life and loved his work. Brian is predeceased by his parents, John and Muriel; his step-mother, Jane; his beloved and protective oldest brother, Stuart; and friend, Mary Ellen Justice. He is survived by his siblings, Kevin (JoAnne), Lawrence (Clara) and Pamela (Walter). Brian is also survived by his children, Terry and Heather (Steve); and his grandchildren, Ari, Abigail, Charlie and Lucy. Brian is survived by his ex-wife, Patricia, with whom he shared a life-long appreciation and love; as well as his friends, Carolyn Justice and Dianne Merciers. Brian also leaves behind his cousin, Anne Leonard; and his cherished nieces and nephews with whom he shared an individual connection including John, Susan, Christopher, Laura, Michael, Jennifer, Molly, Peter, Dan, Jim, Janie, Gracie and Jack. Brian is survived by many great and loyal friends including, Andy (Katie) Pinckney, Richard (Punchy) Keller, David Clemente (Geri), Ted Hoye and Cherie (Hurricane) Cole. Brian's love for his family and friends may have only been surpassed by his love for animals. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Brian's family on Sunday, August 21, 2016, 4 to 7 p.m. in the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen St., Albany. Funeral services, Monday, August 22, 2016, at 10:45 a.m. from the McVeigh Funeral Home, thence to the Parish of Mater Christi, Albany at 11:30 a.m. where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Interment will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, following the funeral Mass at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. Wondered about my old customer and friend so started researching and came across his obituary, Brian Justice so sorry we lost touch after I sold my Tavern/ Restaurant as you were a fixture at the Tip Top Tavern for a few years. We had some great times and fun during those years, thanks for all the business and the folks you sent my way. You are missed sir and the conversations about sports was so awesome. I remember Brian from Cardinal McCloskey High in 1960. We both pitched for the baseball team. I can still visualize him delivering his outstanding, sinking fastball from the mound at Lincoln Park and Coach Clem Zotto calling him "Justice"! What a great teammate! RIP and God Bless you, Brian!

Brian was a mentor to me in the early years
in the concrete business. His loyalty and
dedication to the family help create
a lasting friendship. During the last 30+
years we had spent countless hours sipping
wine,and, yes talking business---15 years
after either of us had been involved!
I will forever miss the camaraderie and
the twinkle in his eye when he would
see L.C.!
I'm thankful for the memorable times
spent with a true friend!
RIP,B

Justice family,
Sorry to read about Brian's passing. I hadn't seen Brian in quite a few years. I remember Brian on Bancker St. and from both Ralph's and Gaspary's where I worked bartending in both places. We enjoyed each others company. Kept in touch occasionally on Facebook. I will keep him in my prayers and may Brian rest in peace.

I was very fortunate to have known Brian since our HS years. After 55 years we renewed our friendship over coffee while we were both in Albany for the 2015 Christmas holiday.I came to know a man who was full of love and pride for his family, friends, and country. He had such kind words for me when my husband passed away last year phoning me every few weeks from Cape Cod to give me much needed support. My condolences to everyone who held him so dear to their hearts. May he rest in peace.
