Figliomeni, Carlo "Frank"
DELANSON - Carlo "Frank" Figliomeni, was 74 years of age when the Lord called him home on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at Suncoast Hospice, Palm Harbor, Fla., surrounded by his family.
He was born in Reggio Calabria, Italy, to the late Domenico and Francesca (Mary) Figliomeni on September 4, 1948. He was a graduate of Cardinal McCloskey Memorial High School in Albany. At the age of 18, he was drafted to serve our country in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Tri-County Council Vietnam Era Veterans and was the former vice president and board member, a member of Post Melvin Roads American Legion Post 1231, Rensselaer, and the VFW Post, Albany, as well as a retired member of IBEW Local 236. He was the senior electrical inspector in the City of Albany, and then later became the director for the Albany Buildings and Regulatory Compliance for the City of Albany, where he later retired in March 2016. He was one of the founders of the Capital Holiday Lights in the Park and was an avid fisherman and hunter.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Figliomeni; two sons, Dominick Figliomeni (Summer) of Palm Harbor, Fla. and Joseph Figliomeni (Emily) of Palm Harbor, Fla.; daughter, Rosemary (Figliomeni) Alfano (Luigi) of Troy; nine grandchildren that he considered his pride and joy, Andrea, Jeremiya, and Gianni Figliomeni; Zachary, Gabriel, and Cara Figliomeni; Antonia, Rosa, and Francesco Alfano; his sister, Rosa Garino (Figliomeni) of Dunedin, Fla.; he is also survived by uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Carlo's family Wednesday, April 12, 4 to 7 p.m. at McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany, NY 12206. Please enter the funeral home from the rear parking lot entrance only. Funeral services Friday, April 14, at 8 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Delaware Ave. worship site, Albany, where his funeral Mass will be celebrated. The interment will be held with military honors at 10:30 a.m. following the Mass at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
