Rose, Carol A. VOORHEESVILLE On Tuesday, July 13, 2021, Carol Rose (Wilsey) passed away peacefully, at the age of 73, after a brief illness. Carol grew up in Selkirk and lived in Voorheesville for over 50 years. Carol was the mother of four children and nine grandchildren. She always made time for everyone and provided support and love for her family. She has always had a soft spot for adopting cats and giving them a loving home. Carol loved to bake, decorate cookies with lots of sprinkles for her grandkids, attend family gatherings and she was especially fond of watching her children and grandchildren's sporting events. Carol was proud of her career working in the microbiology department at the Albany Medical Center; after retirement, she continued to work at several area hospitals. Carol was predeceased by her parents, Donald and Mary Wilsey. Survivors include her children, Matt (Michelle), Eric (Michele), Adam (Janine), and Seth (Sonya); their father, Brian; grandchildren, Sara, Cassie, Charlie, Kylie, Megan, Ethan, Alex, Katie and Leia; brothers and sister, Wendy (Steve), Don (Pam), and Curt (Denise); and several nieces and nephews. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Those wishing, may make a donation in memory of Carol to the American Diabetes Association, 5 Pine West Plaza, Suite 505, Albany, NY, 12205 or to any local cat rescue.

I worked with Carol at St. Marys. She was my weekend partner. I learned so much from her in Microbiology. I always enjoyed hearing about her visits with her children and her stories about her grandchildren. She will be missed.

I worked with Carol at Albany Med in the Microbiology lab for many years. Carol was the calm in the storm on many weekends. She worked all the weekends and holidays to have the weekdays with her boys. She was assigned to setup the Micro lab on a computer system in the 1980's, a big challenge and the keyboard hot keys she set up are still used today. I learned how to be a calm, caring person , parent from Carol. She always handled everything with a smile. My thoughts and prayers to all her family during this difficult time. She will be missed by many.

I went to school with Carol at the Academy of the Holy Names from the 7th to 12th grade. She was a brilliant student and a kind woman. I was always amazed how she could focus on her work and do everything so well. I was struck by the great love she and Brian shared even in high school which has grown into such a beautiful family. My sympathy for your loss of this lovely mother, grandmother and wife.
