Carrie Maccue Obituary

Maccue, Carrie
EAST SCHODACK - Carrie Maccue, 41, of East Schodack, passed away suddenly, from a brief battle with cancer, on May 31, 2024, at Lancaster General Hospital, in Lancaster, Penn. Born in Albany, she was the beloved daughter of Robert and Kathleen (Rifenberick) Maccue; and the loving wife of Jeffrey Pearce. Carrie was a graduate of Averill Park High School, and continued her studies at SUNY Empire College, where she earned her bachelor's degree. Carrie was employed by the SUNY Research Foundation, as a Grants Administrator, at the time of her passing.
Carrie was a selfless individual who volunteered countless hours to her children's endeavors, and would work to coordinate all aspects of their sporting events. She loved animals, especially her dog, Griff, and would spend time volunteering her time at PetSmart. Above all else, she was a loving daughter, wife, and mother. Carrie cherished her time spent with family, especially on her summer vacations to Newport, R.I. and Outer Banks, N.C.
In addition to her loving parents and husband, she is survived by her cherished sons, Eli and Jack Pearce; maternal grandmother, Jacqualine Rifenberick; paternal grandmother, Ann Maccue; mother-in-law, Karen Pearce; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Charlie Rifenberick; and paternal grandfather, Harold Maccue.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Carrie's sisters-in-law, Dana Wiwczar and Dawn Pearce, for their care and compassion during her brief illness; as well as to her baseball family for their love and support.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Carrie's family on Tuesday, June 4, from 4-7 p.m., at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St., Nassau.
Donations in her memory may be made to The Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor Brookline, Mass. 02445-7226. Online condolences may be offered at Mooneyfuneralhome.com

Such a tragic lose. I will always remember Carrie for her kindness and her beautiful smile. I worked with Carrie from the time she came to the Research Foundation until I retired six years ago. I know from talking to her she loved her family. May all the wonderful memories you have of Carrie help comfort you during this difficult time. Rest in peace sweet girl.

Carrie and I befriended each other at RFSUNY. Intelligent, devoted, fiesty, and with such wit -- she was always a bit of light in the everyday. Condolences to Jeff, the boys, and to the entire family. Carrie will always claim a bit of my heart. Peace.
