Fish, Cary P. WESTERLO Cary P. Fish, age 61 of Westerlo, passed away on January 17, 2021. Cary was a strong, witty, yet gentle soul who loved aviculture, the L.A. Rams, N.Y. Mets, kayaking and Southern rock. Cary was happiest tending and raising his exotic waterfowl. He was always willing to share his vast bird knowledge or to help anyone in need. He had a kind heart and was always the first on the list to help if someone was moving and never said no to lend a helping hand. It was his sense of humor in all situations that will be most remembered. He could put anyone at ease with his quick wit. He is survived by his brothers, Deane P. Fish (Cathy) of Altamont, James R. Fish of Thailand, and twin brother Gary M. Fish (Terri) of Delmar; sister Nancy Getz (Keith) of Delmar; brother-in-law John H. Mead of Delmar; sister-in-law, Pilar Fish of Pittsburgh; and faithful friend Chrissy McKay. Cary was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Ruth Fish; sisters, Wanda L. Mead, and Carole Lynn Fish; brother, Robert P. Fish; and nephew, James D. Fish. Uncle Cary will be remembered as a fun uncle who ignored bedtimes, took you to concerts and competed in fantasy football. His life is celebrated by his loving nieces and nephews, Karen Burrows, Nancy Neff, Debra Pitkin, John Mead, Alex Fish, Vallery Yeager, Jimmy Fish, Keith Getz, Carrie Sollien, Kathleen Turner, Elise Fish, Michael Fish and Markie Fish. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Albany Medical Center who were with Cary when we couldn't be and endured countless phone calls with kindness and compassion. Cary was taken way too early, and we will see him again "farther along." A celebration of his life will be held in the spring.
