It's 2024, and you would probably still be heading to work and looking forward to it!
SED lost so much when they lost you. We all lost a good friend and coworker.

I am very saddened that I will not be able to speak to you again. I always looked forward to calling you about certification issues and knew you would take the time in explaining and suggesting ideas on how to expedite the process. I will miss our friendly conversations, your kindness and knowledge. You will be sorely missed. Rest in peace Mr. McCarthy.

Dearest Charlie, Today will be the first day in 15 years as a Personnel Assistant for a Long Island school district, that I will not be able to call you for certification assistance that always included a little friendly chat. You always went out of your way to help me with a myriad of certification issues and questions. You will be sorely missed my friend Charlie and "esteemed colleague" as you would call me. I always loved that. I will never forget you. You're in the arms of the angels now. Rest in peace.

Dearest Charlie, Thank you for always being so helpful to us. For years you treated us with respect, consideration and kindness. Thank you for the many years of service and great useful information. Thousands of teachers were able to move on to fulfill their teaching careers because of you Charlie; thank you will never be enough. Rest in peace, and play with cats. You will never be forgotten!

Charlie, all alone this afternoon I walked into your office and set down at your chair. I looked at the notes on your desk, reminders of the tasks you were to complete the following morning, but, through no fault of your own, could not. I felt at that moment how enormously important your presence was to each of us in the Office of Teaching. You are a kind and gentle soul who was loved by each of us whose lives you made better by your presence. The words of the great poet, apply to you Charlie, as to no other, this world was never meant for someone as beautiful as you. You will never be forgotten, Charlie, you will live on in our hearts forever.

Charlie, ever the gentleman; quick wit, easy smile; always patient and kind; bearer of flowers and bread; the sweetest man I've ever met. I don't think you ever realized how many people deeply cared for you. You are one of a kind and will be greatly missed.
Rest in peace

He was such a warm and friendly person, with an Irish twinkle in his eyes. We were colleagues at the Education Department, and he always had kind words when our paths crossed. Many of us at the Department will remember him fondly for all the loaves of bread he shared over the years. It was a pleasure to call him a friend, and he will surely be missed.

Charlie, I will never forget your generous heart. You gifted my daughter and I with a bottle of Riesling to celebrate her engagement. I had never had it before so you told me all about it and even leant me a book on the origin of the wine. We paired it with chocolate truffles and it was the best gift EVER!
Thank you Charlie for all of your smiles and encouraging words over the years.God bless you my friend, and I have your family in my thoughts and prayers.
