Charles McGuirk Obituary

McGuirk, Charles J. III
WYNANTSKILL - Charles J. McGuirk III, 65, passed away suddenly on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Samaritan Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He entered into eternal life that day with peace and faith.
Born in Troy, N.Y., on April 23, 1960, Charles was a proud graduate of Averill Park High School, Class of 1978, and Hudson Valley Community College, where he earned an associate degree in applied science. A Master Carpenter by trade, Charles worked for Bennett Contracting in Albany, N.Y., for many years, specializing in custom bathrooms and kitchens.
A devoted Roman Catholic, Charles had a strong faith in God and prayed daily with his beloved wife, Lorraine. He loved working with his hands, designing, crafting, and building custom cabinetry. A true jack of all trades, he was always there to lend his skills to anyone in need, especially his family. His love for cats was inspiring; he built outdoor enclosures, made sure they were always fed, and provided unconditional love. Many became beloved members of the household.
Chuck also had a passion for music and dancing; he loved to sing, especially when surrounded by his brothers. His favorite artists were Elvis Presley and Kenny Rogers. He enjoyed the outdoors, loved gardening, camping with his beloved wife and her family, and had a special fondness for fast cars and long rides in his Dodge Challenger.
Charles is survived by his devoted wife and soulmate, Lorraine Mattice McGuirk; and his loving mother, Josephine Seifridsberger McGuirk. He was predeceased by his father, Charles J. McGuirk Jr.
He is also survived by his son, Charles (Chuck) McGuirk IV; daughters, Sarah, Bridget, and Molly Peer; his stepson, Adam Colby; and his cherished grandchildren, Ava, Mara, Cain, and Eva McGuirk. Charles leaves behind his siblings, Matthew McGuirk (May), Maureen McIntyre (Steve), Gregory McGuirk (Divina), Eileen Catlin (David), Sean McGuirk (Chris), and Amy Shea (Matthais); as well as many nieces and nephews, who loved him dearly.
Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Wynantskill Funeral Home, 294 Whiteview Road, Wynantskill, N.Y. 12198.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, time to be announced, at Langan Funeral Home, in Schoharie, N.Y., with his final resting place at Stamford Cemetery.

Loving hugs to you, Lorraine, and Chuck´s entire family. Chuck led the update of my kitchen beginning in April 2020, three weeks after Covid shut down the country. With zero help due to Covid. He was an amazing craftsman and very kind in helping me understand what I needed to for decision-making. I trusted him completely and was grateful for his expertise. He spoke about you with pure love. I am so sad to hear about his passing. Was far too young. Sending you all comforting hugs and prayers for peace. Chuck made a difference, and will be missed.

Charles was a really good brother in law. He had an amazing talent working his hands. Everything he worked with, wood, flowers whatever it was turned to a masterpiece. He especially showed his love through his talent by creating so much beauty in his home for his loving Wife Lorraine. He is everywhere you look in their home. They lived a fairytale life filled with nothing but love.
Thank you for Loving my sister.
Charles, we will miss you dearly!

Josie and McGuirk family,
Sending my sincere condolences to your family. I worked at the Labor Dept with Josie and I always felt the love she had for her children when she spoke of them. May the memories you made give you strength during this difficult time.
