Charles Richardson Obituary

Charles William Richardson, II was born on August 9, 1955 in La Puente to his mother, Rosemarie and his father Charles Richardson, Sr. He was one of six siblings, including his two sisters Kathie and Linda; his three brothers John, Dennis and Scott.
Charles (Chuck) grew up in La Puente, CA. Chuck attended Nelson Elementary School, Sparks Junior High School and La Puente High School where he excelled in metal and auto shop. His youth was spent playing baseball, fixing and driving fast cars and working whenever he could. He graduated with the class of 1973. His first job was at Bert's Motorcycle, in Irwindale, Azusa. He later went to work for Weyerhauser Corporation and then Chuck went to work for Arco Gunite Company. There he learned every aspect of the pool business.
In 1980, Chuck met Tori Marcin at the old Skate way Roller Rink in Chino, California, where she was a skating instructor. In seeking a first date, Chuck wrote a poem to Tori: "If Chinese food sounds grand, and you have no plans, give me a call, Chuck". Chuck and Tori's relationship from then on was known to many as very special in all aspects.
Chuck bought a house in Moreno Valley, CA, and eventually, he and Tori were together. They dated several years until Tori finished College from Cal Poly University, Pomona before they got married. They married on April 24, 1984 at the Fern Grotto, Kauai HI. Later, Tori gave birth to Megan in 1990. They were always together, working, traveling, entertaining or being home bodies whenever they could.
Chuck was a careful planner for what would eventually become his career as a pool builder. He established Canyon Springs Pools and Spas, Inc. in 1996. Chuck built his business out of sheer determination to be the best in business. Chuck was a licensed contractor for plumbing, electrical and swimming pools and certified for yellow gas pipe. In 2003, Chuck and Tori bought a home in Riverside, where he built a beautiful pool with stunning hardscape he designed himself. Chuck also built a pool house and RV garage on the property where he would enjoy his senior years with Tori.
He was a kind, lovable people person who loved being on the main stage. He made friends wherever he went. As an avid boater, he built his own boat engines and made them run very fast. So fast, that his 28 Advantage Party Cat was featured in Power Boat magazine. He was always around the race track. Action and speed was in his veins, whether it was going over 100 miles an hour in his boat, water skiing, off roading, or dancing with his wife, he loved to be the best at whatever he did.
In May, 2017, Chuck was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, the tumor could not be removed until it was small enough. He made a great fight against all odds with Tori dutifully attending to all his needs. On April 27, 2017, Chuck passed away at home from complications of an infection.
