Cynthia Heinz Obituary

Heinz, Cynthia COLONIE Cynthia Heinz, 84 of Colonie, passed away on December 26, 2021, at Shaker Place in Albany where she had been a resident. Born in Glasgow, Mont., Cynthia was the daughter of the late Alvis and Rosa Pfliger Heinz. Cynthia had fond memories of traveling across the country with her family before moving to New York in the early 1950s. The family initially settled in Sullivan County, where Cynthia graduated from high school, and then moved to Schenectady. Cynthia lived in Schenectady with her parents until they passed away, and then moved to Colonie to live with her beloved sister Elizabeth. Cynthia loved animals and enjoyed reading. She worked for New York State from approximately 1958 until her retirement. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her sister, Elizabeth Wells who passed away in 2014. Betty is survived by cousins in North and South Dakota. A special thank you to the nurses and staff of Shaker Place, for their compassionate care of Cynthia. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. in the Griswold Funeral Home, 1867 State St., Schenectady, with visitation from 12 until 1 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Schenectady. To express condolences, visit sbfuneralhome.com.
