Daniel J. Maney

ROTTERDAM Daniel J. Maney, 92, of Rotterdam, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2006 at Albany Medical Center Hospital after a brief illness. Daniel was born on October 13, 1913 in Schenectady, N.Y. and was the son of the late Patrick and Rose Maney. He was employed by the General Electric Company for many years, retiring in 1974. After retirement, he spent winters in Myrtle Beach, S.C., enjoying golf and other activities. Daniel was the husband of the late Rose Sittner Maney, who died in 1993. He is survived by two sons, Daniel D. Maney of Saratoga Springs and Bryan J. Maney and his wife Mary of East Greenbush; two grandsons, Bryan M. Maney (Monica) of Rocklin, Calif. and Brendan P. Maney (Robin) of Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y.; two great-grandchildren, Rachael and Alex Maney of Rocklin, Calif; also survived by four sisters. Rosemary Etzel, Rita Miller, Margaret Daviero and Kay Bolia. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; dear friend of Esther Viplick of Troy. Daniel was predeceased by brothers, Thomas, Patrick and Walter Maney; sisters, Genevieve Boyce and Grace Campbell. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning, June 14, 2006 at 9 a.m. at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway and Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in Schenectady Memorial Park.
