David Casper Obituary

Casper, David R. RAQUETTE LAKE David R. Casper, Sr., 73, of Raquette Lake, N.Y. passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2017 with family by his side. He was born to David A. and Anna B. Casper on June 12, 1943 in Albany, and grew up in Delmar. He spent most of his adult life in Torrington, Conn., where he was an active community member, serving as chief of the Burrville Volunteer Fire Dept., and a trustee at the First United Methodist Church. He led a fulfilling career in business, ultimately leading his own company, Precision Metal Components, LLC. He retired to Raquette Lake where he achieved his lifelong dream of an Adirondack home. His family and friends have many cherished memories of visiting him at the lake. He is survived by his three children, Kimberly C. Millar and her husband Scott, Christine C. McMahon and her husband James, David R. Casper, Jr. and his wife, Julie; and their mother, Judy M. Casper, with whom he shared 40 years of marriage. He leaves his sister, Nancy C. Smith and her husband Arthur; and his brother-in- law, Robert Madeley and his wife Elaine. He will be deeply missed by his beloved grandchildren, Brett, Katherine, Nicole, Michelle, Andrew, and Robert; as well as nephews and nieces, John, Stephen, Scott, Lori, and Donna. David is also survived by his dear companion, Karen McCabe. Friends may visit the family at Applebee Funeral Home in Delmar, on Monday, February 20, 2017 from 2 to 4 p.m. A brief memorial service will conclude the visiting hours.
