Anselment, Donald H. NASSAU Donald H. Anselment, 80 of Nassau, passed away on Friday, May 7, 2021, at St. Peter's Hospital. Donald was born on February 16, 1941, in Troy, the son of the late Charles and the late Ethel Mae (Crooks) Anselment. Donald started as a machinist at the Watervliet Arsenal and after 39 years retired as a general foreman. Don was a master craftsman of all trades and built his own home. Don was an avid bowler and in later years loved to watch his grandchildren bowl. He was a member of Sundays Best and Sundays Jokers bowling leagues. He loved to cook and enjoyed stock car racing, horse racing and old cars, and playing 50/50's Lotto, but most of all he treasured time with his family in the home he built and was very generous with his time and talents. Don also served proudly in our National Guard for many years. He was predeceased by his siblings, Edward (Myrtle) Anselment, and Carol (William) Duncan. Survivors include his beloved wife of 55 years, Sharron (Leffler) Anselment; he was the proud father of Donald C. Anselment, and Justine Doty; proud grandfather of Zachary (Megan Hedgespeth) Doty, and Jennifer Doty; brother of Beverly (and the late Les) Safford; brother-in-law of Helen (Raymond) d'Amico and Charles (JoAnn) Hotaling; as well as uncle to many nieces and nephews. Friends and family are invited to his calling hours from 4 - 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Wm. J. Rockefeller Funeral Home Inc., 165 Columbia Tpke., Rensselaer. Family and friends are invited to his funeral services at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home and 11:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Nassau, where the Mass of Christian Death and Burial will be celebrated; interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Nassau.
