Donna Milks Obituary
TROY - Donna L. Milks, 74 of Troy, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 1, 2023. Born in Troy on May 27, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Jean Lewis and the late Alfred Stickelmeyer. She was the loving wife of Peter Milks for 54 years.
Donna graduated from Tamarac High School in 1968 and achieved her associate degree from Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) in 1994. She was an employee of HVCC for over 20 years serving as a Coordinator of Computer Services when she retired and spent several years, between January and April, preparing taxes as a seasonal employee for H&R Block.
In retirement, Donna kept busy with hobbies that included sewing, quilting, and gardening around her home. Her most recent passion was creating crafts on her Cricut machine for family and friends. She spent many hours of quality time with her husband on trips to Ogunquit, Maine, and other destinations as well as enjoying a Cosmopolitan with friends. None of those could replace the time she spent with her grandchildren, who she adored.
Donna is survived by her husband, Peter; daughters, Wendy (Sean) Gnat of Ballston Lake, and Amy (Mark) Coffey of Stillwater; five grandchildren, Katie, Stephen, and Jacob Gnat, and Alyssa and Ashley Coffey, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
To honor her, a celebration of Donna's life will be scheduled and announced at a later date.

Donna, I cannot believe it´s been a year since you left us. I miss our lunches at the Plum Blossom and our concerts at Tangelwood (Reba) not to mention all the years that we worked together.

Pete and family... our family grew up with both of you in Troy and went to Tamarac with both of you. It was great to reconnect on Facebook. I will always remember Donna as a sweet person. I am so very sorry for your loss. May God continue to bring you peace in the days ahead,

Pete, Wendy and Amy, I am so sorry for your loss. I became friends with Donna when I started working at HVCC many years ago and our friendship grew over the years. Donna was such a light hearted person and was good to everyone. She loved her husband and family dearly. I would look forward to dinner with her after retirement, I would call it "Dinner with the Donna's" as a friendship grew with another Donna I worked with. We would try to get together when we could since retired people are much busier than working people. I would look forward to my pint of maple syrup from Pete's sugar shack every birthday (thanks Pete). After Donna had passed I started seeing a white butterfly that seems to follow me around while working in my gardens on what sunny days we get. Since Donna had such a beautiful garden as well as a beautiful heart I started calling this butterfly Donna. I will dearly miss her and hope that my Donna butterfly hangs out for a while.

I am heartbroken to hear of Donna´s passing. She had such light about her, brightest when she was talking about her daughters and grandchildren. I did not know her well, but she was so immediately affable and kind, one would not have to know her well to feel a loss with her passing.
