Edward Miller Obituary

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. Edward E. Duffy Miller, 87, of Poughkeepsie, died October 11, 2004 at Vassar Bros. Medical Center. Mr. Miller was born in Poughkeepsie November 22, 1906, the son of Aloysius L. Miller and Mellina Schmidt and was a lifetime area resident. He was a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School. He was a former technician with the products testing lab of IBM Poughkeepsie from 1953 until retiring in 1984. Prior to that he worked at the Lucky Food Market from 1936-53. He was a member of K of C #304 Florentine Council-3rd Degree, sang tenor with the S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A. and was a member of St. Mary's in Poughkeepsie. He is survived by his wife Marie Delahoyde whom he married February 26, 1949 at St. Peter's Church in Poughkeepsie. She survives at home. He is also survived by his children, Toby and Patricia Miller of Long Island, N.Y., Martin and Mary Miller of Clifton Park, Edward P. and Nancy Miller of Highland, N.Y., Greg and Melinda Miller, Stephen and Peggy Miller, Paul and Caroline Miller, all of Poughkeepsie, Ellen M. and Tony Ward of Melbourne, Australia, Colleen and Bob Boudreau of Staatsburg, N.Y., Virginia and Mark Surico of Poughkeepsie; 20 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was the last of nine brothers, Louis, Charles, Tobias, Aloysius, Robert, August, John Frank and Joseph Miller. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, October 15, 2004 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 231 Church St., Poughkeepsie. Calling hours will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, October 14, 2004. Interment will be in the family plot in Calvary Cemetery, Poughkeepsie. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
