Schneider, Eileen Scott LOUDONVILLE Eileen Scott Schneider of Loudonville passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 96. She was the devoted wife of the late Robert Douglas Schneider, Esq. Eileen was born in the Bronx on April 11, 1925, to Severin Scott and Mary McCarthy. She was a graduate of the Villa Maria Academy and the College of New Rochelle. She was predeceased by her sister, Muriel Scott of the Bronx; and her beloved cousin, Patricia Crinigan (the late Richard) of Watervliet. She is survived by her sister, Janet Girvin (the late William) of Loudonville; and her five children, Mary Schneider Robinson of Albany, Anne Schneider Costigan (Brian) of Slingerlands, Robert Schneider of Saratoga Springs, Thomas Schneider of Gansevoort, and John Schneider (Kelley) of Ponte Vedra, Fla. She was the proud grandmother of Rebecca Robinson of Slingerlands, Mackenzie Costigan of Slingerlands, Hanna Schneider of Saratoga Springs, Jacob Schneider and Gretta Schneider of Argyle, Grace Schneider, Amelia Schneider, and Althea Schneider, all of Ponte Vedra, Fla.; and her three great-grandchildren, Jamuel Robinson, Skye Peterson, and Forever Sheppard of Slingerlands. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. On August 10, 1957, Eileen married Robert Douglas Schneider and she moved from her beloved Bronx to Rochester, and then on to the Capital District where they raised their five children. Eileen provided unconditional love, support, and encouragement to all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in their chosen activities, be it academics, athletics or the arts. Eileen cherished her family vacations as a child in Wurtsboro and Lake George, and later in life at the Jersey Shore, Cape Cod, and Warrensburg. After her family, Eileen's greatest passion was teaching. Her career started in public schools in the Bronx teaching elementary school aged students at PS 71 and at the Lavelle School for the Blind. Later, she returned to the classroom as a teacher in the North Colonie Central School District. She loved talking about her students' accomplishments in the classroom, especially those with special needs. A devout Catholic, her faith was unwavering as she was a parishioner of St. Pius X Church for over 50 years and treasured her visit to the Vatican. The family extends a special thank you to her friends and caregivers at the Delmar Center, formerly the Good Samaritan Lutheran Health Care Center in Delmar. A private family funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Reverend Jim Walsh in St. Pius X Church on Saturday, April 24, at 9:30 a.m. The rite of committal and interment will immediately follow the funeral Mass in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for your consideration of a gift to the Center for Disability Services Foundation, Inc., 314 S. Manning Blvd, Albany, NY, 12208.
