CLIFTON PARK - Elizabeth "Betty" Welch, 88, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Samaritan Hospital in Troy.
Born in Troy, Betty was the daughter of the late Chester and Mary Sullivan Joslin. She graduated from C.C.H.S. and went on to work at Emma Willard for over 30 years in the Alumni Development Dept. until retiring in 1993.
Betty's greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She loved to garden and took great pride in her flowers. She also enjoyed taking trips to Saratoga Racetrack, the casino, and Cape Cod.
Betty was the beloved wife of the late Donald R. Welch; the loving mother of Susan Klein (Gary Nelson) of Stillwater, Deborah Byer (Jim Halloran) of Valley Falls and the late Mark D. Welch; the adored grandmother of Lyndsey Sager (Jeff), Brian Byer and the late John Klein (Brandi); great-grandmother of Brittany Godfrey (Carl), John Klein Jr. and Emilia and Cora Sager; great-great-grandmother of Brooke Godfrey, Carl Godfrey III and Emma Godfrey; and the sister of the late Irma Aulicino and Jack Joslin. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Betty's family would especially like to thank her home health aides, Jen, Sarah and Sharon for their unfailing care, love and support during the past year.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:45 a.m. from the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 105 Vliet Blvd, Cohoes and at 12:30 p.m. in St. Augustine's Church, Lansingburgh. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, Troy. Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the funeral home from 9:45 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. prior to the service.
