Florence Sharpe Obituary

NORTH GREENBUSH Florence Elizabeth Dee Sharpe, 95, formerly of Route 150 in Wynantskill, died Wednesday, January 8, 2003 at Van Rensselaer Manor. Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Grogan Dee and wife of the late Sidney Bernard Sharpe. She had resided in the Wynantskill area for the past 69 years and attended Catholic Central High School in Troy. Mrs. Sharpe was an operator for New York Telephone Company and worked in food service at Hudson Valley Community College many years ago. She was a member of the Albia Senior Citizens and active in the bowling league at Hi-Way Bowl in Wynantskill and was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskill. Survivors include two daughters, Dee E. Bullock (Peter) of Prospect, Ky. and Beverly A. Tessier (Louis) of Cohoes; two sons, Sidney Sharpe Jr. (Corinne) of Troy and Thomas A. Sharpe (Barbara) of Saratoga Springs; 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandsons; several nieces and nephews and a special friend, Roberta Fath of Wynantskill. She was predeceased by two sisters, Margaret Blaauboer and Gertrude Kelly and a brother, John Dee. Funeral service will be held Saturday at 8:30 a.m. from the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home, Inc., 4392 Route 150, West Sand Lake and at 9:00 a.m. from St. Jude the Apostle Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
