Fran Facteau Obituary

Facteau, Fran
TROY - Fran Facteau, passed away peacefully in her sleep, Sunday, September 28, 2025, at the age of 83.
She was born on February 25, 1942, in Laccolle, Quebec, to May M. and Dollard Pinsonneault.
She was the third oldest of seven children. At the age of four her family relocated and became long residents of Plattsburgh, N.Y.
Upon graduation from High School, Fran moved to Troy, where she worked as a waitress. She later met her first husband Donald F. Smith, and together they raised a family of three girls, Robin, Sheri and Tina.
Fran was a devoted mother who dedicated her time and energy between caring for her children and providing them with a stable home life. She worked many years as a waitress at Coco Diner in Watervliet, and the Latham's 76 Diner. She enjoyed interacting with people, enjoying the outdoors, and playing scratch cards or cards with family and friends.
She was predeceased by her longtime companion, James Dorvetta; her parents, May and Dollard Pinsonneault, of Plattsburgh; her daughter, Sherri Potter of Troy; her three siblings, Arlene Lawrenson, of Troy, Theresa Garceau, of Champlain, Hugette Dubuque, of Plattsburgh; and two infant grandchildren.
She leaves behind her daughters, Robin and Tina; her brother, Real Pinsonneault; her sisters, Doris Dubray and Giselle Belrose, of Plattsburgh; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Her wonderfully large family will always remember her laughter, smile, her determination and love of life.
A special thank you to the Eddy Senior Care Pace, Latham (Dr. Dana Tarcata, Nicole, Zarrell and Lisa), and The Community Hospice (Kalissa, Chaplain Cylon, Father Tom, Erica), and to all their entire team of experts, we could not have made it without you all.
Family and friends may call from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., with funeral service at 11 a.m., on Thursday October 2, 2025, at McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home, 8 109th St. (corner of 109th St, Third Ave.), Lansingburgh. Burial, St. Joseph's Cemetery Waterford.
Her family requests that, in lieu of flowers, to please take your family and loved ones and do something together to capture life's precious moments.

Jed we

Yesterday

My name is Jed and I met Fran through her granddaughter Felicia Smith who also is my bestest friend . I met Fran at Christmas season as her granddaughter wanted me to meet her . Felicia always spoke about her grandma and loved her so dearly. Over the past few years I got to know Fran and went often to her home to check in on her and see how she been feeling . She was so kind and helpful and whenever I went there she always feed me she was a very kind to me living and caring . I will never forget the talks and the times she made me feel like I was family . I really enjoyed each moment I got to spend as she was always cheerful and encouraged me to keep up the hard work and she and I shared the same faith in God and whenever in doubt Fran was the typa person to bring a smile to my face and help me believe that things are going to get better and work out . And she was always a inspiration to me . Sharing my memories especially the stuffed peppers she made and shared with me and the many chats together will forever be something I have to hold onto in my heart . I send my condolences to her family and he friends and may God bless each and everyone of you . It was a blessing to meet and get to know Fran . Someone I'll always hold dear to my heart . She will be missed very much . She is rejoicing in heaven with Jesus and the angels in heaven .
