Frances Grupper Obituary

Grupper, Frances HIGHTSTOWN, N.J. Frances Daniels Grupper, 102, passed away peacefully December 6, 2007 at Meadow Lakes Health Care Center, Hightstown. Born in New York City, she lived most of her adult life in Schenectady before moving to N.J. in 2004. Frances retired as an administrative assistant from Schenectady County, spent many years assisting her husband Charles in the retail jewelry business, and had been employed by the Golub Corporation. She had a passion for the Spanish language from her employment in import and export in New York City before her marriage in 1929 and was active in Hispanic clubs and tutored high school students in the language. Frances was also active in synagogue activities and quenched her continuing thirst for knowledge by participating in many elder hostels. Widow of Charles Grupper; she is survived by her loving and devoted son and daughter-in-law, Albert and Madaline of East Windsor, N.J.; grandchildren, Joanne and John Hildreth of Beverly, Mass. and Beth and Jack Lamb of Hoboken, N.J.; and grandsons, Joshua and JD Hildreth and Aidan Lamb; and a very close group of cousins and friends. Services at Congregation Agudat Achim, 2117 Union Street, Schenectady on Sunday, December 9, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow services in the Agudat Achim Cemetery, Rotterdam, N.Y. Memorial contributions, only, may be made to Macular Degeneration Research, 22515 Gateway Center Drive, P.O. Box 1952, Clarksburg, MD 20871 or the Haven Grief Counseling Center, 703 Union St., Schenectady, NY 12305.
