Frank J. Naglitsch

Naglitsch, Frank J. TROY Frank J. Naglitsch, 97 of Watervliet, entered peacefully into eternal rest on August 26, 2011 at the Hospice Inn at Samaritan Hospital in Troy after a brief illness. He was born in New York City to his dear parents Frank and Fanny Naglitsch and moved to Schenevus, N.Y., as a child. He was a graduate of Delhi Agricultural College. Frank served his country in World War II and the Korean War. Following his tour of duty in the United States Army, Frank worked for the Golub Corporation as a Price Chopper store manager in various locations. Upon retirement, he became the mayor of Schenevus for several years and then served as acting supervisor of the town of Maryland, N.Y. He was also instrumental in the founding of a Little League Baseball program in the Town of Schenevus. Frank was a lifelong New York Yankees fan and devoted fan of North Carolina Basketball. Frank was predeceased by the love of his life, Edith Mary Naglitsch (Coulter) and is survived by his two daughters, Fran (Joe) Schmidt and Barbara (Richard) Terwilliger. He was the proud grandfather of Joseph (Kristen) Schmidt, Michael (Donna) Schmidt, Lori Schmidt, Alaina (Carl) DeWitt, John (Erin) McBride and Nicole Smith. He was also the great-grandfather to ten great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, 515 Nineteenth St., Watervliet, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Inurnment will follow at Memory Gardens in Colonie. There will be no public calling. The family of Frank Naglitsch gives a special thanks to Dr. Ram Agrawal who was first and foremost his friend and also his primary care physician for many years. They also wish to thank the nurses of Samaritan Hospital on the fourth and fifth floors and all the hospice and pastoral care staff who so lovingly cared for him. The family also recognizes his friends of Hudson Shores Apartments who made his life a joy.
