Frederick Powers Obituary

WATERVLIET Frederick P. Powers, 68, of Watervliet, formerly of Bennington, Vt., went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 8, 2003. He was born in Bennington, Vt. and was the son of the late Clifford and Gertrude Terry Grover. Mr. Powers worked for many years at the Painted Pony Ranch in Lake Luzerne, Carioto Fruit Distributors and more recently, for the Stewart's Shop in Latham. Fred was healed of many illness by the grace and power of Almighty God through Jesus Christ. Mr. Powers was predeceased by his wife, Lela Wendell Powers. Fred is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years, Waynette Dunn Powers. He is the father of Frederick P., Dorothy and Laurie Powers; brother of Marie Hall, Bernard Grover, Millie Grover, Joe D. Grover, Linda Sweet, Michael Grover, Agnes (Bobbin) Totherow, Lawrence (Butch) Grover and the late Clifford Grover. Also surviving are several grandchildren; many friends; and his beloved canine companion, Tosha. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Waterford Wesleyan Church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Hospital, ALS Center, 315 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208 or the Waterford Wesleyan Church Memorial Fund, 75 Grace Street, Waterford, NY 12188 in memory of Frederick P. Powers.
