As a cousin to George, 10 years my senior, I remember idolizing his skill at model railroads and on the saxaphone. I now have some of his original American Flyer trains, but only distant memories of his layout in the front upstairs bedroom of the Potters' house in Round Lake NY. Our families played cards nearly every weekend, and camped together at Fish Creek Ponds in the Adirondacks. George was always the first to do things like jump into the cold spring-fed lake. I remember his band playing in concert at Shenendehowa Central School. Then, he was the first to go far away (I would follow a decade later) to college. From there (1959), his life took many new turns, and we lost touch until these last few years in Geirgia. My condolences to the family. George will be missed by many.
