Gerald R. Fitzgibbon

Fitzgibbon, Gerald R. CLIFTON PARK Gerald R. Fitzgibbon, age 74 of Clifton Park passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2011 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's in Albany. Born on November 27, 1936 in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late Gerald and Jane Fitzgibbon. A veteran of the US Navy, Gerald graduated college with two master's degrees in Hospital Administration. He worked as a Hospital Administrator for various Catholic hospitals for many years. He most recently worked as a project manager for the NYS Department of Rural Health. He was a member of St. Edward the Confessor Church. He enjoyed playing golf, was an avid gardener, and loved his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Geraldine Fitzgibbon of Clifton Park, daughters, Laura (Thomas) Gable of Clifton Park, Kathleen (Paul) Soye of Ft. Worth, Texas; and son, John (Mary Day) Fitzgibbon of Loudonville; and sister Kathleen Renault of Norfolk, Va. He will be missed by his loving grandchildren, Madeleine, Eliza, Kate, George, Isabelle, John, and Charlotte. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Catricala Funeral Home Inc., 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park. There will be memorial Mass Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Edward the Confessor Church in Clifton Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gerald's name to the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital, 315 So.
