Gerald G. Peart Sr.

Peart, Gerald G. Sr. ALTAMONT Gerald G. Peart Sr, 83, of Route 146, passed away at home on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 surrounded by his beloved family. Born in Albany on May 20, 1929, he was a son of the late Louis Sr. and Celia Morey Peart. Gerald is lovingly remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a family man who enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a talented carpenter with a do it yourself attitude. Gerald served in the United States Army enlisting in 1946. For many years Gerald was a proprietor of Dell's Tavern on Route 146, Altamont. He is survived by his beloved wife, Dolores (Deleskiewicz) Peart; his children, Gerald G. "Jake" Peart Jr and his wife, Maria, Sheila Zurek and her husband Bill, Donna Sellie and her husband Tony, Theresa Dodge, Sharon Beauregard and Louis LaMay. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Arthur Beauregard and his wife Alison, Joseph and Ryan Beauregard, David Dodge and his wife Kelly, Nicole and Kyle DiPierro and Stefanie and Amanda Peart and his great-grandchildren, David and Natalie Dodge and Ethan DiPierro. Gerald also leaves behind his brother, James Peart. He was predeceased by his parents; his sister, Clara Bell Reittinger and his brothers, Louis S. Peart Jr., Alfred Peart and Thomas Peart. Family and friends are invited to call at the DeMarco Stone Funeral Home. Inc, 5216 Western Turnpike (Route 20), Guilderland on Friday March 1, 2013 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday March 2, 2013 at 10 a.m., St Lucy's Church, 113 Grand St., Altamont. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Altamont Rescue Squad and or the Guilderland Center Fire Department.
