Gertrude Stevens Obituary

Stevens, Gertrude L. ALBANY Gertrude Lucille Stevens, a longtime resident of Albany, departed this life on March 15, 2009. Gertrude was born July 13, 1933 in Coeymans, the youngest daughter of the late Mitchell Stevens and Lena Anderson Stevens. She graduated from Ravena-Coeymans High School. Gertrude was a member of the Riverview Missionary Baptist Church, Coeymans, where she sang in the junior choir. Gertrude held various office jobs in Albany. Gertrude will be remembered for her stories about the "good old days," her sense of humor and her love to play bingo. Gertrude leaves to cherish her loving memory her brother, David S. Stevens of Albany; sister, Shirley S. Walker of Whispering Pines, N.C.; two sisters-in-law, Inez Stevens of Coeymans and Catherine Stevens of Albany; and by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her sisters, Catherine G. Stevens and Virginia E. Jackson and her brothers, Edward W. Stevens and Mitchell Stevens Jr. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 20 at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena with Rev. Leonard Comithier officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday prior to the service starting at 10 a.m.

The lord is holding Aunt Gertruds hand as she enteres into enternal life. I am sadden to see her go due to I nver got a chance to know her.
