He was my spiritual advisor at Sacred Heart Church. I loved his Christmas card messages. I figured he was sick. I recently asked a parisher about him. They told me he died.

Greg lived a life of service and touched the lives of many. I have fond memories of our days as fellow students at St. Bernard"s in Rochester. A good man. We know you are with the Lord who you knew so well in this life.

Fr. Greg was terrific. We didn´t see much of each other but when we did get together it was always a nice time. Usually the time was spent talking story about relatives and fond family memories.
Thoughts, prayers and well wishes to all my Weider family members!

Fr. Greg was a true friend to our family since the `60s. He celebrated much joy with us and got us through much sadness. He presided at the weddings of both my sister and brother, buried my father and mother, and shared many occasions with us over the years.
With many thanks from all the Steltmann family, may he rest in peace.

I am SHOCKED beyond all words ! Fr. Greg was my 3rd cousin through his mom Arly. Greg and I talked on the phone every couple of weeks ! The last talk was around or just after 4th of July and he said he was just great! We laughed ad I asked him wad he still cooking dinner every night and he laughed and said "yes !" I said ok let's talk again in a week or so,and we agreed. I just realized just a few minutes ago it had been more than a week and thst he hadn't answered a home phone message I left several days ago. So I started calling his home phone and then cell phone. Both said mailbox full. I thentried Timothy Weider search and up comes on my screen that Greg Weider passed away July 12 and there was a funeral Mass today July 19 !!! I am out of town and do not know how to reach his sister .Maryann or anyone else. Cansomeone get in touch with me? My name and phone # will be on his phone book I know. Again, I am shocked to read this! Can the funeral home ask his family to contact me ? Rest in peace, Greg ! I hsd bee wondering why no call back this past week... God keep you close now and always . And your birthday is Dec 5, not Nov 5, and I have it down on my Dec calendar already to call you !! I am stunned !!

I'm sad to hear of Father Weider's passing. I met him in the summer of 2007 when my husband was dying at the young age of 50. They were kindred spirits in their love for boy scouting and Father was a great source of comfort to both of us. I've thought of him fondly throughout the years. My condolences to his family and friends.
