Harold Ariel Obituary

Ariel, Harold Lawrence
BURNT HILLS - Harold Lawrence Ariel of Burnt Hills, who was born on March 25, 1941, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2023, at the age of 82.
Harold, also known as "Bubba" or "Hobbit" to those who loved him most, is survived by his daughter, Marcy Ariel (Mark); his son, Robert Ariel (Nancy); his grandchildren, Lydia Wallace (Dustin and daughter Parker) and Justin Ariel; as well as his beloved, brother-in-law, Ron Rybicki, and his wife, Derrie. Harold was predeceased by his wife, the love of his life for nearly 60 years, Sandra Ariel.
To know Bubba was to love him. His laugh nearly knocked you off your chair, but had you in stitches right beside him, weak with laughter. Whether he was "shaking the stove," as he'd say while whipping up his famous salty popcorn, cracking jokes at camp, or doing what he enjoyed in the outdoors - hunting, fishing and snowmobiling in the Adirondacks, he was sure to leave an impression on everyone he met. He had a kind soul, but a playful and witty spirit that kept him young and spry up until his battle with Alzheimer's during his last few years of life.
Harold supported his family over the years by creating an illustrious career in the local Tuxedo industry. He did this through his remarkable work ethic, loyalty, and knack for making strangers smile. He and his partner, Gary Siekierski, who was more like a brother, bought Marlou Formal Wear in Schenectady in 1968 and together built something special. Harold met many people, and friends who became family through Marlou over the years.
Harold lost his wife several years ago but enjoyed nearly 60 years of loving her and raising their children, Marcy and Rob. He is at peace being reunited with Sandy and ultimately rests in the only place he wanted to be - with her.
At this time, there are no services planned; however, a celebration of Harold and Sandy's life will be scheduled for a later date for close friends and family. Both Harold and Sandy are finally resting together in the Schenectady Memorial Park, 566 Giffords Church Rd., Schenectady.
Bubba, we love you, we will miss you, and we will rejoice in the happy memories of you. Give your sweetheart all of our love, until we meet again one day to "shake the stove" together.

I can only say that I loved Harold. So many memories with Marlou. I´m so blessed that I had that opportunity to work with him and owe him the success that I have had in the tuxedo industry. May God open up those gates and let this angel in that has touched so many hearts certainly mine.
