Stevens, Harry R. BARNEGAT, N.J. Harry R. Stevens, age 71, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2017, at the home of his sister, surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness. He was a long-time resident of Barnegat. Harry was born on September 11, 1946, in West Coxsackie, the son of Edward W. Stevens and Catherine J. Russell Stevens. Harry graduated from Coxsackie Athens Central High School in 1965 and attended college at the State University of New Jersey. He was a board certified technician by the American Association for Respiratory Therapy; and he received his license from the State of New Jersey in State Board of Respiratory Care. He was employed by Community Medical Center in Toms River, N.J. and hospitals in New York and Texas, as a respiratory therapist. Hobbies included golf, shooting pool, fishing and hunting and wood working. He enjoyed collecting Native American memorabilia. Survived by his daughter, Suzanne (Bialek) Hoban; three grandchildren, Michael Hoban, Patrick Hoban, IV and Sean Juliet Kalnick of Roxbury Township, N.J. Also, four brothers and four sisters, Lena Cruz-Tanveer, Sherian Stevens-Thornton, (David), Thomas Stevens (Lisa), Mitchell Stevens, Elaine Stevens-Singh (Sohan), Sandra Stevens, David Stevens, Donald Stevens; three aunts, Shirley Walker, N.C., Muriel Russell, Catskill, Inez Stevens, Coeymans; and a host of loving nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Catherine Stevens; his older brother, Edward W. Stevens Jr.; and younger sister, Christine E. Stevens. He was a past member of the Riverside Baptist Church in Coeymans. Condolences for family and friends will be on Monday, October 9, from 12 to 4 p.m., with a 2:30 p.m. Christian service immediately following at Brady's Funeral Home with the Reverend Shirley Whitlock officiating. Flowers or memorial gifts to the family of Harry R. Stevens may be sent to W.C. Brady Sons, Inc. Donations may be made to the "Harry R. Stevens Annual Memorial Scholarship Fund."
