EAST GREENBUSH - Irene Daoust-Coyne, 93, peacefully entered her Eternal Rest, November 16, exactly as she wanted, at home surrounded by family. In her youth, she attended St. John's Academy. She spent many years living with and helping her mother in Rensselaer. She was an active communicant of St. John the Evangelist and St. Joseph's Church in Rensselaer. She worked and enjoyed an early retirement from N.Y. Telephone.
At age 69, she married the love of her life, William Coyne, who predeceased her earlier this year. She was also predeceased by her 18 brothers and sisters. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the W.J. Lyons, Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave., Rensselaer. Funeral from the funeral home on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 9 and 10 a.m., at St. John and St. Joseph the Evangelist Church, 54 Herrick St., Rensselaer. Interment will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 10 a.m., at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, N.Y.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Irene's name to Alzheimer's Association of Northeastern NY, 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Chicago, Illinois, 60601 or the Community Hospice, Rensselaer County Chapter, 310 South Manning Blvd, Albany, NY 12208.
