James Conroy Obituary
TROY - James "Jim" Conroy was a man whose life was defined by service, love, and dedication to both his family and community. Born as the eldest son of James Conroy and Mary Rose (Bond) in Troy, N.Y., Jim's journey through life was marked by countless acts of kindness and leadership that left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Beyond his public roles, Jim was a devoted husband to Phyllis (Schwab); and a loving father to Jacqueline (Sean) O'Donnell, James (Karen) Conroy, and Charles (Amy) Conroy. He was a proud grandfather to Madeline, Julia, Sophie, Will, and Colin, who were the light of his life. Jim is also survived by his brother, Joseph (Patti); and brother-in-law, Michael Wood. He was predeceased by his parents; and siblings, Steven Conroy, and Christine Wood.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Joseph's Church, 416 3rd Street, Troy, N.Y., on Monday, at 10 a.m. Friends are invited to visit with Jim's family on Sunday, 4:30 -7:00 p.m, in the church. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a memorial contribution to a charity of one's choice or consider a random act of kindness for someone in need. Online condolences at ddpurcell.com

To the Conroy family my sincere condolences. I met Jim years ago while employed at the Chamber of Commerce while he served as Deputy Mayor. Jim was always very kind and thoughtful and even years later when we crossed paths at church or the garden tour, he still was friendly and very gracious. His passing is terrible loss to all. I was a classmate of Jim and Chris at St Paul´s and CCHS. Our families also shared many memories at Lake Lauderdale. Jim was like the older brother of the group and watched over all of us. May he rest in peace with. Christine, Steve and his parents.
