James Farrigan Obituary
BALLSTON SPA - James L. Farrigan, 78, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2025. He was born in Cohoes, N.Y., on July 31, 1947, to Alexander and Dorothy Farrigan. Jim proudly served in the US Army.
Jim worked for Amtrak for many years, and was the Union Chairman for SEIU/NCFO. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, visiting the beach, and taking a long ride on his Harley. His greatest joy was his grandchildren, and he treasured the time they spent together.
He was predeceased by his parents; and his siblings, Jean Walsh, Alberta Grennon and Butch Farrigan. Jim is survived by his wife, Catherine Farrigan; children, Tracey Farrigan, Sheri RedCloud-Owen, Dennis Grignon (Julie), Darren Grignon (Tracey), Daniel Grignon (Renea), and Derek Grignon (Kristine); grandchildren, Brittany, Ashley, Mariah, Darren, Matteo, Luca, Shae, and Eli; many great-grandchildren; and his sister, Linda Murray (David).
Relatives and friends are invited to a calling hour, 10 to 11 a.m., on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High St., Ballston Spa. Funeral services with military honors will follow at 12 p.m., at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Road, Schuylerville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Jim may be made to Toys for Tots. Online remembrances may be made at www.armerfuneralhome.com
