Kellogg, James V. JEFFERSON James V. Kellogg passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, surrounded by his family. Born in Carbondale, Pa. on October 27, 1930, he was the son of the late Louis Kellogg and Ruth Vanderford Kellogg. He later moved to Cohoes and graduated from Cohoes High School. He served in the U.S. Marines and upon his discharge he worked for Niagara Mohawk Power Company as safety director. He was active in the Cohoes Citizens Party and served as the city assessor in the early 1970s. James loved the outdoors and was a hunter and skier. In his younger years he enjoyed running and racquet ball. He was a prolific reader and did so until the end. James is survived by his loving wife Marlene Kellogg; his children, Kenneth (Joann) Kellogg, Wade (Sarah) Kellogg, Jay (Frances) Kellogg, and Tracy (Ronald) Langlias; his stepchildren, Kenneth (Janet) Coons, Douglas Coons, and John (Lynn) Coons; his niece Laurie Wright; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Edward Kellogg; and his first wife Nancy (Burnett) Kellogg. In accordance with Jim's wishes there will be no calling hours. He donated his remains to the Albany Medical College for research and education.
