James Tarantino Obituary

Tarantino, James M. DELMAR James M. Tarantino, a beloved husband, father, and grandad passed away suddenly on December 31, 2020. Born on July 26, 1952, in Glens Falls to Ernest and Mary Tarantino, James grew up in Salem. After graduating from SUNY Cobleskill he began working for the New York State energy office and moved to Albany. It was there he met his wife, Susan. James and Susan had celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary on October 1, 2020. James' further career was with NYSERDA and after retirement with ENYCAR. Some of his best stories and memories involved travel and adventures with a host of good friends. He enjoyed gardening, being outdoors, traveling, and most importantly spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He will be missed, loved, and remembered with a smile by many, many people. He is survived by his wife Susan Tarantino; daughters, Juliet and Maura; son-in-law Jesse; two grandchildren, Isaiah and Kadesh; brother Angelo; sister-in-law Gail; nieces, Anjanette, Mandi, and Alicia; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. A memorial will be planned for spring 2021 in honor and celebration of James' life. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation to the American Heart Association. You may find an extended obituary and photo memorial montage at the funeral home's website, www.NewComerAlbany.com.

Our family´s deepest sympathy for the loss of Jim, who I always thought of as a "great guy". He always made you feel like he was happy to see you and ready to chat. I will also remember his dedication to the former Holy Cross School and his hard work on the garage sales. May his light in the world continue to shine through all who knew him.

So sorry for your loss. I grew up knowing Jimmy as my Grandparents Frank & Florence Chase owned the camp next to Mary & Ernie at Cossayuna Lake. My prayers are with your entire family.

To Sue and family and to Angelo's family. I am sorry for the loss of Jim. I have known Jim from high school and he was a room mate and shared a duplex myself in Albany in 70's until I was married. I remember Jim's laugh and always enjoyed his humor. When we had parties where we lived, he said to invite the neighbors so they would not complain and we did and had get parties. I will miss Jim as I am sure all will. I hope the family can focus on the good times you had with Jim and let it bring comfort to you. My deepest sympathy.
