BALLSTON SPA - Jean Elizabeth Federico, 93, longtime resident of Ballston Spa, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025, at Wesley Health Care Center.
Born in Troy on August 13, 1932, she was the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Stone Holland. Jean was a graduate of Mechanicville High School and Albany Business School.
Jean enjoyed countless family camping trips with her husband and children, packing up the station wagon and hitting the road, making lifelong memories together on their adventures. She loved watching soap operas and Hallmark movies, was an avid reader, and enjoyed working through puzzle books. She, and her husband, Joe, spent many winters in Clermont, Fla., where they made lasting friendships and happy memories.
Above all, Jean cherished time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. They looked forward to their Rummy games together, and she made it a priority to attend their academic and athletic events, always their biggest supporter.
Jean was predeceased by her beloved husband of 60 years, Joseph Bruno Federico, who passed away in 2013; her grandson, Jason Coseo; and an infant sister, Ann Holland.
Survivors include her children, Patricia (Anthony) Mangini, Samuel (Phyllis) Federico, Betty (Mark) Thornhill, Kathy (Jeff) Coseo, JoAnn (Larry) Taylor, and Jane (Eric) Obrecht; grandchildren, Gwyn (Robert), Laura (Andrew), Joshua, Joseph, Sam Jr., Mark Jr., Jeff (Kristen), Ryan (Simone), Sarah (Lee), Kristina, Alisha (Michael), Colby, and Jeremy; great-grandchildren, Rilynn, Anthony, Amalia, Giada, Rocco, Hunter, Madisyn, Lucas, Olivia, Manny, Legend, Champion, Hayleigh, Brinlyn, Tregan, and Owen; and great-great-granddaughters, Eevee and Iris. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and their families.
The Federico family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Wesley Health Care Center, 4 Victoria, for their comfort and compassionate care, and to Community Hospice for their support.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 20, 2025, at 11 a.m., at St. Mary's Church, 167 Milton Ave., Ballston Spa, N.Y. 12020.
Private family burial will follow at St. Paul's Cemetery, Mechanicville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Wesley Foundation, 131 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, N.Y. 12866, in memory of Jean E. Federico.
