Jean O'Hagan Obituary

O'Hagen, Jean M. FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. Jean M. O'Hagan passed away Sunday, August 14, 2011 in Fort Lauderdale surrounded by her loving family. Born in Albany she was the daughter of the late Charles and Josephine Weber O'Hagan. She was a supervisor of the insurance department of CSEA for over 40 years, retiring in 1989. She is survived her by sisters, Sister Vincent Marie O'Hagan, CSJ and Marjorie O'Hagan; her nieces and nephews, Ann Marie Blanch, Karen Seaburg, Josephine (David) Vogel, Geraldine (Dennis) Wilson, Mary Ellen Munim, Amelia Blanch, Gregory A. (Susan) Blanch and Thomas (Christine) Blanch. She is also survived by 10 great-nieces and nine great-nephews, and six great-great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Sister Joseph Mary O'Hagan, CSJ and Theresa Yezzi; and her nephew James W. Blanch. The family would like to give a special thank you to Jean's nieces, Mary Ellen and Ann Marie, for taking care of her for the last six years. Funeral services Thursday, August 18, 2011 from the Dreis Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany, at 8:45 a.m. thence to the Parish of Mater Christi at 9:30 a.m. where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Wednesday, August 17, 2011 from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment will follow the Mass in Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery, Glenmont. Those wishing to remember Jean in a special way may send contributions to the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, c/o The Development Office, St. Joseph's Provincial House, 385 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Latham, NY 12110.

We are so saddened to hear of Jean's passing. She dated our late Uncle Jack Conklin until his death and helped us celebrate many happy times with our family.

My deepest sympathy to the O'Hagan and Blanch family with the loss of Aunt Jean. She was always a happy person who loved to sing and dance. I've known her since I was a kid and will miss her. God bless.
