ALBANY - Jeanne Connors, 79, of Albany, N.Y, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2025.
Born on November 12, 1946, in Albany, N.Y. Jeanne was the beloved daughter of the late Corinne and Chester Applebee and daughter in law of the late Henry and Norma Clas.
Jeanne was a proud graduate of Vincentian Institute High School. Following the sudden loss of her husband, Henry F. Clas Jr., she returned to school as a single mother of two young children and earned her associate's degree in Criminal Justice from Hudson Valley Community College and her bachelor's degree in Social Work from SUNY Albany. Jeanne went on to build a long and impactful career as a social worker, dedicating herself to nonprofit organizations and finding her greatest joy in helping children.
Jeanne loved to read, travel and dance. She also loved to sit on any beach anywhere and she especially loved the coast of Maine and Venice, Fla.
Jeanne's unwavering faith guided her throughout her life and she was a devoted member of Christ the King parish.
Jeanne is survived by her daughter, April Clas; adored granddaughter, Haley Crast; and her sons-in-law, John Cochran and Paul McCreary; sisters-in-law, Susan Clas and Suzan Tuttle; and brothers-in-law, Charles Clas Sr. and Joseph Tuttle. She is also survived by nieces and nephews and the many dear friends she made throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry F. Clas Jr.; cherished daughter, Marie McCreary; and her sister, Dolores Smith.
The family extends their profound gratitude to the nursing staff at St. Peter's Hospital for their exceptional care and kindness.
Memorial donations may be made to the St. Peter's Hospital Foundation.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Jeanne's family Friday, December 12, 2025, at Christ The King Church, 20 Sumter Ave., Albany, N.Y. 12203, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Jeanne's Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m., in the church.
The Rite of Committal will immediately follow the Mass, in Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands, N.Y.
