Alicea, Jennifer
ALBANY - Jennifer Marie Alicea, beloved mother, nona, sister, aunt and friend, was sung home by the Communion of Saints on October 22, 2025, to join those she loved in eternal rest with our Lord. Born on February 27, 1951, raised by her parents, Leonard and Jane Ricchiuti with acknowledgement of her birth mother, Shirley Edith White. Our mother, Jennifer, lived a full and vibrant life. Her love of family was always her touchstone. She cherished her role as a Nona saying, "Motherhood was a gift, but being a Nona was God's special blessing."
Jennifer was the devoted wife of the late Victor Manuel Alicea Sr., the love of her life, sharing 49 blessed years together. She is survived by her cherished daughter, Deonicia Liuzzi (the late Leonard Anthony Liuzzi); her adoring son, Victor Manuel Alicea Jr., and beloved and devoted daughter-in-law, Karina Alicea.; and her beloved granddaughters, Carmelina Chase (Giles) and Daenerys Marie Alicea, who were and always will be a cherished gift from God. She also leaves her beloved brothers, Leonard R. Ricchiuti Jr.(Mary) and Rocco Ricchiuti (Tricia); niece, Amanda Weik (Jimmy); treasured goddaughter, Sara Alysse; niece, Amy Jane; nephews, RJ (Chelsea) and Nick Ricchiuti; brother-in-law, Rafael Alicea (Patricia); nephew, Jason Alicea (Jessica); and niece, Beth Fiorini (Berto); and her very favorite aunt, Jacquelyn Arogona (Joseph). There are many cousins and friends who will miss her as well.
Throughout her life, she enjoyed every opportunity to engage with all those she encountered. She was a people person, ready to listen, talk and help. She thrived in the company of others and they, in turn, often found themselves beneficiaries of her loving advice.
Sundays were Jennifer's favorite days, filled with family, laughter, and the aroma of pasta sauce simmering on the stove. Those dinners brought everyone together around the table, where stories were shared, advice was given, and love was always served in abundance. Her Sunday gatherings will forever be remembered as the heart of her home and a reflection of the warmth and the generosity she embodied.
Professionally, Jennifer dedicated many years of service, over 30 to New York Telephone, ending her career in management at Verizon. After her retirement, she devoted herself to family and friends. In addition, she and Victor traveled extensively. Their trips to Italy, Las Vegas and cruising were her absolute favorites. She then decided a second career was in order and worked for the Albany Roman Catholic Diocese for 15 years. She established friendships there that were truly treasured. To Jo-Ann Garrison and Mary Fay, we extend our thanks. You were always just a phone call away, and you were right by our mom's side when she needed you the most.
Jennifer was a woman of deep faith, a true light in this world, and fought for her children and grandchildren until her last earthly breath…
