John Somerville Obituary

HUDSON John P. Somerville Jr. entered eternal life on March 16, 2006 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born on June 27, 1942 in Brooklyn, N.Y. Predeceased by his loving wife, Janet Origlia Somerville; devoted father, John P. Somerville Sr. Survived by his loving mother, Rita Tricano Somerville; sons, John P. (Jacquelin Griffin) Somerville and Vincent M. (Jacqueline Adams) Somerville; cherished grandchildren, Jennifer and John Somerville IV of Queensbury and Julio, Max and Jenna Rodriguez of Castleton; sisters, Elizabeth Fields of Long Island and Rita Lowenstein of Fla.; devoted friends, John and Noreen Adams; along with a niece, several nephews, cousins. We are most grateful for the compassionate and loving care that John received from Columbia County Hospice and its volunteers. Funeral services will be Monday, March 20, 2006, 1:00 p.m. at Ray Funeral Home, 59 Seaman Ave., Castleton, N.Y. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home before the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Castleton. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Columbia County, 47 Liberty Street, Catskill, NY 12414.
