John Wieboldt Obituary

Wieboldt, John Anthony TROY John Anthony Wieboldt, 63 of Troy, passed away after a recurring illness on Tuesday, January 4, 2022. John is survived by his wife Mona Douaihy; two stepsons, Youssef and Karim; and his siblings, Robert (Marie) Wieboldt, Laurel (Reza) Karimi, Valarie Levay, Harriet (Myer) Gotz, Mavis (Thomas) Korosec and Kristin (Robert) Adams. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom he loved as his own. He was predeceased by parents, Harold and Harriet Wieboldt; and his siblings, Richard Wieboldt, Patricia DeLucaia, and Margaret Kado Mouawad. John was trained by the U.S. Army as a cook and for several years pursued a career in the restaurant business in New York City. He then found his true vocation, automobile restoration. Moving to the Capital District, John became proficient by working with several automobile restorers and dealers. He then moved to Canajoharie to care for his parents and became proprietor of Uptown Taxi. Later he moved to Troy operating as an independent auto restorer. John loved dachshunds and had several well-loved pets. All who knew John, loved him for his warm heart, generosity, witty conversation and loyalty to friends and family. The family wishes to give a special thanks to John's friends, especially Jared Loomis and Eli Douaihy. Services will be private. Visit perrykomdat.com for a private guestbook.
