Joseph P. Bonacquisiti Sr.

Bonacquisti, Joseph P. Sr. RENSSELAER Joseph P. Bonacquisti Sr., age 87 years, of North Greenbush passed away at his residence Thursday, May 19, 2011. He was born in Pittsfield, Mass., and lived most of his life in the Rensselaer and North Green-bush area. Mr. Bonacquisti was employed as a carpenter/laborer for Local Union 190 in Albany. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a member of the Gerald O'Neil American Legion Post 1683 in Rensselaer. Joe was also a member of the Leonardo de Vinci Lodge in Rensselaer and was a communicant of St. John The Evangelist and St. Joseph Church in Rensselaer. Husband of the late Elvera M. Santore Bonacquisti; father of Joseph (Donna) Bonacquisti Jr. of Castleton and Linda Bonacquisti of North Greenbush; grandfather of Gina Marie Bonacquisti and Dana Lynn Kentzel; great-grandfather of Zackery and Joseph Kentzel. Son of the late Philip and Angelina DeSantis Bonacquisti; brother of the late Claude, Anthony and Earl Bonacquisti, Amelia Cristo and Edith Strohmeier. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home Monday morning at 9:30 and 10:30 at St. John The Evangelist and St. Joseph Church Herrick Street, Rensselaer where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Sunday from 2-5 p.m. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Greenbush.
