Carr, Joseph Barry MENANDS Joseph Barry Carr, 69, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 21, 2014, from a sudden heart attack in his home. Joseph was born in Albany, and was the devoted son of the late Benjamin and Edythe Carr. He graduated from The Albany Academy, earned his bachelor's degree from The University of Rochester, and his law degree from Albany Law School, where he was an editor of the Law Review and graduated cum laude. Joseph practiced law up until the end of his life, rising to managing partner at McClung, Peters & Simon, then moving over to Couch White LLP, and finally Rowlands & LeBrou PLLC. Joe was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served a tour in Vietnam. Joe's interests ran deep. He was a lover of food and drink, an avid reader, and most of all, an obsessive golfer. Joe was most often to be found on the links of Schuyler Meadows Club, where he was a member for 30 years, and is noted for his contributions to the lexicon of golf scatology. Joseph had a great number of friends and family, whom he cherished dearly. He is survived by his loving sons, Aaron and John; his devoted daughter Sarah, and his sister Phyllis Brenowitz. Joseph also leaves behind his beloved partner of 15 years, Laurie Allen. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be sent to the American Heart Association of Albany. I'm a friend of Aaron's and John's - and hadn't seen Mr. Carr in two decades. However I have such fond memories of him - one of the adults who was always cool. RIP Joe. Thanks for all your kindness.

I will always remember Joe as he was in high school. He had a smile that seemed to permeate his whole body. When something struck Joe as funny, and as I recall many things did, this smile would come and it was absolutely contagious.it was wonderful to be around Joe with his zest for life and his constant searching for adventure.
I'm sure he will be missed by those who were close to him in later years and buy those who are close to him in his earlier years.

There are no words to express how sad I am to hear of Joe's passing. Joe was a wonderful boss and then remained a wonderful friend. My life was better having been a part of his. You will be missed. Laurie- I hope you find comfort in how much he loved you. John, Aaron & Sarah- you meant the world to him. He was so proud of all of your accomplishments and always bragged about your current exciting adventures.
