Joseph Prager Obituary

Prager, Joseph W. Jr. LATHAM Joseph W. Prager Jr., 60, of Latham, died on September 30, 2016, at Albany Medical Center, following an eight-month battle with Leukemia. Son of the late Joseph W. Prager Sr. and Eleanor (Butkus) Prager, Joseph was born in Waterbury, Conn. and moved to the Capital District in 1994. He was a graduate of R.P.I., class of 1997. He worked as a civil engineer up to the time of his illness. Mr. Prager was a former member of the local Rotary International. He will fondly be remembered for the love he had for his dog, Paco, N.A.S.C.A.R. and hiking. Joseph was a service-orientated person touching many lives along his journey. (Dennis) Mullaney of Northville and Plattsburgh and Susan (Walter) Duby of Ormond Beach, Fla. He was uncle to John and Jeremy, Michael, Justyne and Daniel; and step-uncle to Megan, Morgan, Ryan, Erin and Meredith. Visitation with a memorial service will be held between the hours of 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, October 6, at Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2nd Ave. (corner of 104th Street), Troy. Wow, I'm such at a loss for words! I don't know where to start.. Joe was a sweet person! We met at amazing grace and worked together for awhile and became good friends , he taught me a lot about nutrition and even financial freedom.. He gave me awesome advice about everything!!! We would talk about everything! I am going to miss joe! I know he loved Paco too, he did everything to keep Paco healthy after being told he had a bad heart and then to find out he was diagnosed with leukemia really bothered me, I knew he would beat it but he never let me come see him at the hospital , so unfortunately the last thing I remembered of Joe was him taking me to delmonicos for my birthday ! It was nice ! Joe was such a good , faithful , loyal , friend ! Very diligent worker !! I'm going to miss you Joe , can't even believe I'm writing this in your departure to this life ! I'm going to miss you soooo much !! I'm glad your at peace tho and not suffering, this is still a shock, I didn't even get to come to your funeral because I didn't have the info until today just a few minutes before writing this. So sad! Can't believe I'm saying this...RIP Joe!!!

I am so sorry for your loss. The loss of son at a relatively young age must be so hard. Take comfort that your son was a Christian and will be with the Lord. Many parents will never have that gift. Bless you. And may the Lord comfort you.

Joe was a wonderful and extremely sweet guy. I'm going to miss not having him around to discuss health and nutrition. I'll never forget how much Joe loved to visit. He would stop over to drop off the rent and the next thing I know he's having dinner with me and my family. Hahahahaha. I won't be able to take a drink of my Isagenix shake without thinking of him. Joe is truly going to be missed. I feel blessed to have had him in my life.
God Bless you Joe!!

Joe was a dear friend to me that share many fun get togethers with myself and my friends from church. He especially liked coming to my "game nights" and he always brought some fun to the gathering. He loved his dog "Paco" and good food, chocolate and his time doing activities he enjoyed. I will remember him as a brother in Christ as well.
